Good thing I still have the original LoGG ch2 page. If we need to nuke and reload the page, let me know...

I've got a local image of all the wiki content from before the upgrade, so we're not missing anything substantial.

The page is *there,* but it's not rendering correctly for some reason. It's not a size issue, the biggest pages in the fiction section render fine, it's not a content issue, since I can't see any bad code in the page or anything that would substantially screw with the rendering... I dungeddit.

Okay, I finally managed to to get a hold of our Action Sysadmin, and the problem with LoGG Chapter 2 has been fixed. Turns out it *was* a file size/memory
issue. No idea why it was just that page and not anything else, but whatever. The effective memory limit has been doubled and the page is now working
perfectly. All hail the Action Sysadmin, and normal service on FenWiki has been resumed.

I'll try to keep the remaining chapters from growing too big, then...

Now that things are back to normal, I've added the Legend of Galactic Girls concordance entries to each chapter's associated discussion page. (The "discussion" pages are there - we may as well use them...)

For reasons that pretty much equate to "why not" I've dumped a bunch of VVS-related insigna artwork to the Art page:

Noah Scott's writeup fleshed out a bit. (Including mention of a unique firearm in his collection...)

It seems that half the times I stub a page, somebody else writes the content. And nobody wrote content for the last page I stubbed, so...

I just stubbed the http://fnord.sandwich.net/fenwiki/doku. ... :quidditch]Quidditch page in order to have someplace to put an appropriate image.

Just FYI, if you check the wiki this afternoon and see that the layout's different or all weird or something, do not be alarmed. I'm experimenting with
different DokuWiki templates. This shouldn't affect normal operation (I hope) and all pages will be accessible for editing.

... I've started adding statistic boxes to the Faction pages. So far, I've done the six big factions (the http://fnord.sandwich.net/fenwiki/doku. ... of_planets]Trekkies, http://fnord.sandwich.net/fenwiki/doku. ... c_republic]Warsies, http://fnord.sandwich.net/fenwiki/doku. ... ding_world]Wizards, http://fnord.sandwich.net/fenwiki/doku. ... r_alliance]Fivers, http://fnord.sandwich.net/fenwiki/doku. ... nt_faction]Browncoats, and http://fnord.sandwich.net/fenwiki/doku. ... millennium]Senshi), the http://fnord.sandwich.net/fenwiki/doku. ... onsConfusedupers]Supers, and (as an example of a special case) the http://fnord.sandwich.net/fenwiki/doku. ... inleinians]Heinleinians.

Some of the others are going to be difficult, mostly because there isn't enough information about the factions. (Truly minor factions probably won't get stat boxes...)

Edit: Oh, yes... If you're up to compiling stat boxes for other factions, "Political clout" is either Major, Minor, or Nonexistant.

The FenWiki server is down as of 10:30 EDT. It's not our fault, something else happened on the line. The admins are working on it, details will be given once the problem is resolved.

ETA: This from our sysadmin:

Quote:Our main server, Herring, was down from 5:30 AM - 11:15 AM (Eastern) this morning. I'm still investigating what happened; it looks like a DoS attack caused such high disk I/O that the system gridlocked. It took a while for me to get in contact with our ISP, and I brought things back up carefully. Things will be a little slow for the next 4-6 hours as the RAID card checks all of the disks.

Hopefully that "DoS" wasn't all those enthusiastic congoers finally checking in all at once...

Well, that addresses my concerns about why I wasn't able to reach the wiki this morning. Thanks, Fnord.

A couple of additions

I've added blackaeronaut's new chapter of http://fnord.sandwich.net/fenwiki/doku. ... oy_express]Gina and The Bullet Boy Express to the story's wiki page.

I've also put some author's notes (basically a who's-who-in-the-story list) onto the discussion page for http://fnord.sandwich.net/fenwiki/doku. ... experiment]Log of the Long-Term Autonomous AI Experiment. (Since we have the discussion pages, I thought they'd make an exellent place to put author's notes. I've previously done that with LoGG, too...)

Hey, rob? Re: the Hacker Underspace....Fate should probably be on the list of known members. Her three sisters aren't, but she would definitely be a
member.

Oh - and are there any guidelines for who fixes the wikipages? I must admit to being wiki-clueless, as far as the proper formatting is concerned. There's a
slight change that I wanted to make to the list of visited stars. Vega should be on the 'Visited' list. Although it wasn't mentioned outright, the
spacesuit that the Jason wore when meeting Wire Geek for the first time was a result of his visit there. In fact, the creation of the suit was the PURPOSE of
his visit there. *mutter mutter* Stupid handwavium. Wouldn't do what I wanted until I took it to Vega and played flute arias while handwaving the suit...

Editing guidelines are pretty loose, all things considered. You *must* be a registered user in order to gain edit privileges, but that's easy enough to get
(and a quick check of my Mystical Admin Powers shows you already on the list as a user, so). Other than that, everything's open for changing if necessary.

Well, I didn't know she was known... 8) Okay, she's on the list.

(By the way, I noticed that none of the Fateful Lightning folks have character writeups yet. Just saying/hinting, is all...)
