Slowness
09-13-2010, 03:38 PM
I've been experiencing some serious slowness with the boards since the evening of 9/12. Before I report it to Yuku, I wanted to see if anyone else was having problems along the same lines.

It seems snappy enough to me.
General slow loading (like on dialup), or hanging and then bringing it all up at once?

I was experiencing some serious delays, but decided to bounce my browser before blaming it on yuku. On browser restart, things seem snappy enough.
Though I don't doubt it's well within yukus ability to screw something up, I don't have anything to help with this case.

Looks like it might be local to me, then, though for the life of me I don't understand why nothing else seems to be affected.

I'm having problems with Avatars not loading. About 1/3 of them actually work.

Same here, but the problem now seems to be resolved and the speed issue's also taken care of for me as well.

Bob: noticed the same thing yesterday, but as you said the problem seems to have been resolved. Looks like the guys at Yuku caught it.

Odd, it's still broken for me. I only see a few avatars.
Edit: And before you ask, it's on multiple browsers on multiple machines.

If you still have the problem by later this afternoon, Chris, I'll take it to Support.

I'm also having the Avatar issue. It seems to be variable, with users affected depending on the browser... but I'm having it in Opera and Firefox4 and Internet Explorer.

Yeah, it's cross browser, cross location for me. Better now (I'd say 1 in 5 missing now) but still happening.

I can further confirm the avatar issue, at least for the moment. A few won't load, though who changes from time to time. Not a big deal, but could be a symptom of something worse.

Hm. 24 hours later and the avatar problem is gone for me, far as I can tell. Anyone else?

Flushed firefox cache, and things are back to pictures (rather than just 'avatar'). Odd nonetheless.

Now I'm having the avatar problem - ironically enough, only with Ankhani's avatar...

Just finished testing with Chrome, Firefox, and IE, two different machines and two different networks (home, last night; work today); I can't reproduce the problem at all. Everyone's avatar pic appears just as it should.
I'd guess it's ISP and/or route related, somehow.

It would seem so, Spud. I'm getting some oddly mixed results between computers on my ship and my laptop in my barracks room.
On the ship, pages are, at times, slow to load, and often images (ie: avatars) fail to load. My laptop, though, experiences fewer difficulties, but sometimes stalls out, literally. It just stops loading the page and all that is displayed is a blank, not even an error code.

Strangely enough, for the brief time I had the avatar problem, Ankhani's was the only one that vanished for me. After I dispatched Azula clicked through the avatar link to Ankh's profile page and came back, the avatar problem went away.

Although the problem's gone now...
