OK, I don't normally do this, but this is in regards to both the Gir/Ice Cream machine present thing and the Fox Chibi Nogi:

Chibi Nogi is also the first pic I seriously coloured in 6 years.

Huli in one of her many jobs before she came to Paragon, a minor Triad leader, dealling with an underling that messed up.

Looks like blood spatter from a gunshot wound, followed by bleeding, rather than the... meat cleaver? she's holding.  Though that's easy to overlook.
Also: eww.
I think it'd have more impact against a non-white background and if the character herself was colored.  Right now, it's... well, it's not as impressive as the chibi-Nogi coloration.  The lower half has potential as splatter-art, but it feels like there's a sharp disconnect between it and the rest of the image -- like they're two different things just jammed together rather than one cohesive whole.

Bullet spewing swords! Gunblades are coming back into style folks get them while their hot!

I do like the blood splatter effect myself although it just..feels off with the rest of the picture but I'll leave it at that and let others like Mr Spud there make a more informed observation ^_^

well, there is a very legit reason as to why the blood splatter dose look off.

I just grabed a pic of a splater and edited it to fit... obviously not very well.

as for the lack of colour, this was more an experiment to see how partial colouring went.

Might need to go back and do some more work.... and add a background so the Fire eye stands out.

so, because it bugged me so much, I'm re working that Huli pic, here's what I got so far.


Using some tricks i picked up from watching some other artists live streams, like the Greay background and the fact it's easyer to just plop the colour in, then erase what strays out side of the lines.
it's going to take a bit (need to make the Tatts look better) but should be worth it when done.
