I scared myself last night...
07-25-2014, 04:28 PM
I've been meaning to write about a couple of the deathless insights I had over the past week or so of road trip, but first I have to share something I noticed last night:
I think Krypton-1's South Africa is on a fast track to becoming the Domination of the Draka. Anyone else see that?

The good news is, presumably the rest of the world won't let them get away with as much expansion as the Snakes got to do on their own timeline.

On the other hand, there are worse places, plotwise, to go with SA. The UN couldn't ask for a better big bad...

One of the things I was thinking, especially the Krypton-2 UN.
Also, the bit in the outline about "Mideast: Hope for the Future, or Building to A New Explosion?" makes me think of the potential for a clash between the Afrikaaners and el-Embarekh.

I started to put this in the "Hey Kids! Comics!" thread down in the development forum, but decided it belongs here instead: this thread got me thinking about how the Steve Stirling of Krypton-1 might have written the Domination, assuming for argument's sake that he did. Imagine the Stellar Event happening to a world with the Domination. For one thing, the Snakes would be likely to beat the Nazis to having a military super-team. *shudder* On the other hand, it occurred to me while I was writing this that giving the Snakes somebody with super-persuasion (what Aberrant calls "Mega-Charisma" and Wild Talents second edition calls "Hypercharm") makes it easier to understand how they got away with so much before other world powers took action. :->

Heh. There's already an NPC in Warriors' World like that -- Moonchild, whose only power was scads and scads of Heightened Charisma. A sweet girl who didn't go out heroing, but if she encountered a supervillain could Belldandy them into giving themselves up to the cops, reforming, and becoming an accountant.
