Yet another possible Gate Song...
Yet another possible Gate Song...
#1
Yep, that's right... yet another gate song. I heard this on the radio *months* ago, and finally found the lyrics. My ears and thinking recon it's one of my better finds. For a while I couldn't locate the lyrics as I though it was sung by The Corrs. I don't know if there is any music verison on the net, but the following lyrics comes from: www.stlyrics.com
Anyway, here it is:
Artist: Lindsay Lohan Lyrics
Song: What Are You Waiting For Lyrics
Sometimes I get that overwhelming feeling.
So sad, the faces on tv.
If I tried to make a difference, would it help anyway?
But then I stop and to myself I say..
So you wanna change the world?
What are you waiting for?
Say you're gonna start right now.
What are you waiting for?
It only takes one voice.
So come on now and shout it out.
Give a little more,
What are you waiting for?
Sometimes, I feel a little helpless.
Seems like I can't do a thing.
But anything is possible, just you wait and see.
Good things happen, if you just believe.
So you wanna change the world?
What are you waiting for?
Say you're gonna start right now.
What are you waiting for?
It only takes one voice.
So come on now and shout it out.
Give a little more,
What are you waiting for?
Someday, somehow. I'm gonna take that step.
Cause time is tickin' away.
Right here, right now.
Before it's too late.
I'm gonna face tomorrow today.
Don't wait.
Yeah.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
So you wanna change the world?
What are you waiting for?
Say you're gonna start right now.
What are you waiting for?
It only takes one voice.
So come on now and shout it out.
Give a little more,
What are you waiting for?

I've never heard anything by Lindsay Lohan -- you say this sounds like the Corrs? I'll have to give it a listen.
As for a gate... mmm, maybe. At first glance, though, I think it might work much like "Dare", instead.-- Bob

Well, now I'm no longer so fortunate.
I can sorta kinda see how she might be seen as sounding like the Corrs, but in my opinion it's not that close an aural resemblance. The jury's still out on whether I like the song or not, though.-- Bob

Yeah well, I blame my own hearing and my radio on that score. From playing both of the twins in the remake of "The Parent Trap" to her latest songs... wince. She's gone more Brit* Spea* (most of name censored so as not to offend) than I could imagine.
I still recokon I've go the wrong singer, but the lyrics match up to what I remember.
Note to self: Must fix up car radio speakers. (Currently only the left front works, and that's my 'deafer' side. And the driver's seat here in Australia is on the right side of the car.)

Eh, just were do you live in Oz to get Linsey Lohan inflicted upon your eardrums by the radio. As I've never even heard anything of hers on the stations I listen to. (I freq-hop in the hunt for decent tunes & the BBC world service. 102-105.1 MHz is a regular stopping range)
Or are you one of the unfortunates that has managed to buy a CD?
Ya, fixing up the car stereo is a must with some models -- cheapest supplier & whatnot. I've yet to convince me dad to do something with the rig in his van. At highway speeds you may as well not bother with it being on, it's that bad.
