The mind boggles....if you're talking about the current incarnation of Battlestar Galactica, it would be interesting.
Actually, it would solve the Natural/Coordinator conflict..when you got "real" space monsters coming in to kill all of humanity, I don't think a united front is out of the question.
The upshot is that humanity will have to spread out to other star systems now.
