Hrm... well yes. Overpowered. Agreed on the repetiveness. Something to read while I'm on my GS kick! Or *cough* if Valles or Drak wants to save me from corrupting my mind, they could always write faster *cough cough* *hint hint*. And well... overbearing angst sort of makes me want to smack everyone around.
How many people have such overly convoluted and tragic pasts?
On the other hand, he seems to know the series well at least and he plans his stories out -- although they tend to the over dramatic and massive rewriting.
Hrm... I gather it's like reading Wong's JWD series. I really liked it at first - I knew it was massively skewed but well, it's not meant to be serious (I think) - but I couldn't read that fanfic now.
I will say I was really happy to see Cagalli with Kevin though. (I feel petty). I haven't watched the last few episodes of GS yet and only skipping around in GSD, but I am pretty irritated at Athrun's waffling. Okay okay, so there's no angst without him doing his thing - and Gundam series always have angst apparently - and Kira is godlike in ability and temperment, but gosh, you've only been in Orb for two years and already you're skewing rapidly to the side both in terms of your relationship with Cagalli and Orb.
Athrun basically seems like he's looking for that perfect cause without pain -- i.e. that he wants to go back to being a soldier and just a soldier without thinking about his actions (because the cause would be perfect; hence, no thinking required). And then he slides into an obsession with it. Gah. *whaps*
Aside from my minor quibble and unthinking glee over this pre-emption, no, I don't think it's fantastic -- although I think it's not really any better or worse than Betan's story.
Still, something to read and doesn't make me scratch my eyes out due to massive formatting/grammar/spelling issues.
