It's a decent dub. Not a "You're Under Arrest" really-fantastic dub or an "El Hazard" excellent dub, but also not a (insert any of 80% of pre-"Slayers" dubbed anime here) phoned-in-the-lines dub or a "Those Obnoxious Aliens" you've-got-to-be-kidding dub.
Software Sculptors' policy of selling the subbed and dubbed versions of "Slayers" at the same price for the same episode count with the same release date proved that the sub-dub war had been won by the dub side. That might be the problem a lot of subbed-anime-only fans have with the dub...
