One thing that is worthwhile about The Alternative World is that if you're a big Shayla-Shayla or Jinnai fan, the two of them get stuck together for about half the series and make a surprisingly plausible pairing. Also, Rune Venus actually gets a plotline and some character (even if the plotline literally vanished at one point). Otherwise, it's shite, yes, and Qawoor is hateful.
