Hmm, I'm tempted to have Shikanenai vs. Shikamaru in the preliminaries, leaving Ino against the Sound-kunoichi (I suspect that the matches were set to pit Shinobi with similar skills against each other to maximise variety in the third round). No particular idea how it would go, but 'nenai is unlikely to lose to his brother, so he'd face Temari in the finals for some fan vs. fan action.
-------------------------------------------------
"Dammit," Temari shouted as the blasts of wind shot back and forth across the arena, "Where did you learn Sand Country's jutsu's!"
Shikanenai flicked his halisen, neutralising a gust from Temari's giant gunsen. "It's a long story," he said, sweat running down his face. He might know some of the jutsu but he wasn't as good at them as the girl from Sunagakure and keeping the fan together was something of a strain.
They'd been moving gradually around the arena and a few more steps would place his opponent...
Temari jumped out of the way of a gust, concentrating on a counter attack that blasted the errant trails of wind aside, sending a wave of the debris picked up by the battle of the winds towards Shikanenai.
...right where he wanted her.
Shikanenai vanished in a puff of smoke, his halisen dropping uselessly to the ground.
Temari blinked and then yelped as two hands caught her ankles and dragged then down until she was knee deep in the soil of the Arena floor. She whipped her fan up and a heavy weaight caught hold of it from behind her, forcing the weapon down to the ground.
"Nice weapon," said the kage bushin of Shikanenai, flipping the fan away before he dissipated in another cloud of smoke.
"Is there something that you'd like to say to everyone?" asked another bushin from a safe distance as 'nenai's own hands tightened painfully around her ankles.
Shoulder slumping, Temari raised one hand. "I surrender," she said angrily.
