Harry Potter was taken from the Dursleys' doorstep by a beautiful woman with tanned skin and white hair. He was raised by the woman's sister and her husband, who seemed, to their casual acquaintances, to be a fine young motorcycle mechanic/designer and his beautiful wife.
One day, he received a letter inviting him to attend a most unusual school, on the far side of the world from his adoptive parents' home. There, he learned much of magic, and made new friends, and faced battle against a powerful and evil foe.
He also learned of a prophecy which said that only he would have the power to defeat that foe. And that Voldemort, the enemy, was equally obsessed with defeating him in turn. He studied hard, and struggled desperately, despite the troubles he faced.
And then he realized what the prophecy really meant. "The power the Dark Lord knows not", he realized, was a single rather long and complex telephone number.
"Hello, Grandfather? I'd like to ask a little favor..."
