The Evas could be redesigned as skin-tight armor suits for Shinji et al, in the same vein as the Angels'. (Plug suits as the basic form of the armor, perhaps. Odd how the stuff covers substantially less skin in its active mode, at least on Asuka and Rei...(and Hikari?))
