Yes, I can understand that. You're largely right, of course. Just keep in mind that this is a prologue, and that I'm planning on telling most of the story from Harry's point of view.
As for the Konohagakure incident, that really won't be important until the summer after Third Year... and, even then, the only reason it's important is that it let the family know that they have a way to get to Gaara's world.
The other named throwaway incidents are only important for similar reasons. The tenkaijuu are important to explain certain other events and facts (such as how Robert can use Raika, for instance). The kidnapping and murder attempts are important to establish reasons for Harry's reactions to Malfoy's actions. The demons and cereal line is to help establish the reasons for one of Harry's quirks. Even the alien xenoproctologists have a role to play later.
Basically, all of this is just set-up.
And, of course, there's the fact that most of the other children aren't going to play much more of a role in the story than the older Weasley siblings play in canon. While I may flesh out their stories in separate stories, this piece of fiction is Harry Potter and the Screwed-Up Life.
As a side note, does anyone know how old Robert is in the Ueki series? The fact that I don't is throwing off my timelines somewhat.
