The factories are mostly small, and machinery has the largest share of production. Parts for radio and communications products are also produced in significant numbers. A large number of anime production studios are also located in Nerima, such as Toei Animation, Mushi Production, and AIC.

On top of that, I think we should indeed assume that MHI's factory complex also made the jump, in which case resource gathering is the only real bottleneck. Japan hasn't been noted for an abundance of mineral wealth, so some degree of foreign adventurism may be required.
A certain degree of gearing down will be called for, if only to give allied locals the start of their own comprehensible tech-production.
