Nothing I recall about the manga or anime of Chobits indicates any actual relationship to Apple. I believe that comment was a joke.
Actually the only anime I've seen where something's obviously an Apple reference was in Buttobi CPU, where they were the villains...
In any case, I still think power switches should not be put places where one might push them by accident... *spoiler dodging vagueness!* ... let alone what
sort of switch it is in the Chobits manga.
On .hack, I was under the impression that Pluto's Kiss was supposed to have taken down everything running on every OS? Which would be quite a trick, but
still.
Anti-apple comment time! : I thought the joke was that there were no viruses for macs because there weren't enough macs to be worth the effort...
I used to just find the Mac OS cumbersome and difficult to operate, but these days it's their ad campaigns that make me unwilling to use a Mac unless Apple
loses money in the process.
