Not only did the Carebears have enemies... they had at least one major big bad... I think it was Dark Heart... he was in one of the movies and literally
captured all but one of the Carebears and their allies.I may be remembering this wrong... but I think it was implied that the Carebears were captured because
they'd eventually respawn if killed. The Big Bad's major flaw was that he sealed them all in a single breakable chandlier rather than dozens on small
containment units. It has been like 1.5-2 decades sense I'm scene the film.... so I'm a little off here.
In fact, when you think about it the Carebear's main weapon, they have niffy symbol themed item creation abilities and such as well, is the Carebear
Stare...which is a beam of energy that cheer's people up and can cure possession by malignant things. It works better in consert with other Carebear
stares... and the link up ability has an upper limit apparently equal to the number of entities possessing said ability.
Being blasted by this beam has far more in common to being doused in positively charged ectophasm than alignment change/mind control beams... that is a major
bit of specific power their... add in the link up ability and you have a military grade, if specific use, battle mage weapon going. Which means they have to
have versed something in the past work researching this abilities.
I can remember a Big Bad this ability is perfect for to a scary degree. An insanely high level version of such a being as those possession demons. The
Carebear is pretty much the exactly design to fight such a beasty. Able to take down minor possessions... or gang up for major ones. However, the target of
the Stare is not actually drugged out happy or mindlessly gleeful, as most shows would do... the person is happy, but functional afterwards... the Carebears
also seem to have a policy against excessively hosing people down with this attack. They use it relatively responsibly.
Even though my knowledge of the Carebears is faded with time I think there is an actual solid case to be made that the Carebears are actually celistial beings
in the In Nomineverse specifically design to fight against Legion should it rise again.
