Possible spoilers for Sailor Moon, but You Should Know This Already.
Yeah, it does. The big resurrection at the end of season one was supposed to come at the cost of Usagi's life, but because of the content of the wish, she was brought back too. My personal interpretation is that this is why they lost their memories, and why Moon's powers didn't work correctly at towards the start of season two. Them losing their memories was, in my opinion, because they all lost their 'lives' as Senshi as the price for Usagi's resurrection. Once their memories were restored, Usagi's powers went on the blink, and it was stated in series that this was because she was trying to live two lives at once, that of Tsukino Usagi and that of Sailor Moon.
The other time the Silver Crystal was full power that I can remember, there were two of them due to time travel, and part of both of the user's wishes was that the other user be resurrected, so it balanced out somehow, I think.
As for the Gary Stu thing you mentioned, I hate to say it, but Zeke does seem to me to be fairly close to the edge there. He's a Spark (basically) who is also a partially trained shaman who is/will be the Avatar of a god, has a father who is decently ranked in some military force (I can't remember the details off the top of my head, rank or organization), and a grandfather who is a fully trained and powerful shaman. He is getting training in his spiritual powers from his almost girlfriend/fiancee who appears to be quickly falling in love with him (or at least is strongly attracted to him), and also happens to be one of the Sailor Senshi. Also, their grandfathers both know each other, and apparently set up this situation, even though they happened to meet by accident before knowing that. All this mostly in the first four or five chapters, unless something is from a snippet that occurs later, or I'm not remembering something correctly. If I have misunderstood something, please let me know.
If you don't mind a few suggestions on toning it down slightly, I have a few ideas.
First, regarding the Raven avatar powers, you might want to put some strict limits onto those, which Raven can ignore when he wants. This would be for things like resurrecting Alica and the like. Unfortunately, gods aren't supposed to interfere directly like that, that's the reason for having champions and avatars and such in the first place, so when Raven does something big like that, it would burn out Zeke's powers for some period of time. Obviously, this would happen at the worst possible time, and hilarity would ensue.
For the Spark bit, why not make him a Whispered instead? It would allow for most of the same stuff, since they are supposed to be sources of unusually advanced and near-impossible technology. The side effects of being a Whispered, on the other hand, I can see synergizing in a very bad way with his spiritual powers. Rewatch the bits in episodes 6 and 7 of Full Metal Panic where Kaname's powers first activate, and imagine how something like that could go for someone who is spiritually sensitive. Ouch.
I hope you don't mind my saying all this. If you don't like the ideas, please just ignore them.
