Chain Reaction: a colision of interests   Fate/stay night and Nanoha crossover.  Decades after the Grail War, the TSAB finds the Grail, classifies it as a lost logia, and makes off with it.  A number of familiar faces from the last war and a few OC's are assembled to take it back. 

I've read through the first three chapters, and I'm finding this story rather difficult to read.  Also, the multitude of OCs is getting a bit grating.  I have to ask, does the quality of the writing improve in later chapters, and do any more of the established characters show up?  Or is Shirou permanently missing somewhere in South America?

It is something of a slow starter.  It picks up around chapter 5 when the Grail Crusaders assemble and set off.  Most of the old Servants are back, but mostly with new Masters.  Gil stops by to chat/monologue in chapter 7 and his pronouncements contain some unfortunate implications for Shirou's status.
