Jinx999 Wrote:Rocket Girls and I Dream of Jeanie.I love this one simply for the sheer "What the bleep is happening!" that would occur if this was a story in which the Rocket Girls somehow ended up landing in the world of I Dream of Jeanie.
Nelson's called in as part of a team to investigate when a space capsule is spotted only on beginning re-entry (causing a brief panic before it is realized to be a crew capsule and not a warhead, but with IDoJ being comedy rather than drama that panic doesn't last too long). Then the ensuing confusion when contact is made -- with young girls, initially speaking Japanese, then accented English, who bafflingly claim to be not part of a Japanese space program but a civilian Solomon Islands space program...
Nasa and the Air Force want to go over the capsule with a fine tooth comb for anything they can learn, and meanwhile the law of comedy all but insists that rather than locking the crew up in an isolated corner of a military or nasa base, they get sent to stay at Major Nelson's place. "They aren't spies, they're children... Although who in the world thought it was a good idea to cram kids into one of those tin cans." "Actually I think the one mentioned something about her father."
Not sure I could pull it off, but I may have to let ideas percolate here...

Will the transhumanist future have catgirls? Does Japan still exist? Well, there is your answer.
