In the book this was largely limited to plastic cowboys and indian and some plastic army men. In the movies they used whatever toys the kid owned... includer Darth vader with a working lightsaber... only to scale with the action figure he used.. Each entity involved has a consistant personal timeline, between summonings... and the summoned can take object back with them. The summoned can stick around at least for months and the Key has no problems being used while summoned are hanging around from different time periods. Also, you can use the Key on the living in order to send them elsewhere... damage and death carry over. All it needs to funtion is a keyhole and a container... I'm not sure it works with containers with windows or veiwports or anything.... cameras inside will be turned into models though. Imagine what happens if some idiiot uses that on their comic book villians or on a room with a ton of Warhammer figures in it.
OK, You either have the Key to the "The Lost Room" or You've found "The Key Maker" from Matrix: Reloaded. One can be used on any door to get to Room 10, The other probably made the previously mentioned key, and can make others that go to someplace else.
In short... put a toy replica of some item from a stow in.... get the real thing out. That would include the key from room 10. I said prop room was a bad idea as all your rubber suits are real.
