Quote:"All right Megatron, this time, over the Electroplex, off the inside of the Iacon dome, down Vertical Transit Shaft 6, around Vector Sigma's chamber, up through the Great Rift, and off the side of Darkmount, nothing but net."So you mean Transformers on Basquash! Earth, where Prime is channeling Nacho Prime and desides all his minions are shoes instead of pants and shirts?
Quote:Sometimes something that starts out intended to be very bad, like Sosuke Sagara with the tastes and some of the habits of Hansel and Gretal from Black Lagoon, and Pathan sexual mores, turns out much better than the sister ideas after enough modification. The reason the above fails for me, is that 1) its too many changes for the sake of changes and 2) I can't even figure out what your actually mean. You'd have to explain that in backstory how the hell that works. I can't see how this can be done without making it a matter of SS in name only. I'm not sure how Pathan mores differ from other tribal Islamic mores.... but Hansel and Gretal have of list of specific personality traits that make them them. Twincest, which is hard to do with an only child. Crossdressing, which is, as far as I know, a stoning offense at best with islam. The signature weapons are a matter of being able to use them... other weapons come with age (also may be hard to keep in ammo in AK47 land (not that I've looked up the ammo specifics)). Which means means axe crazy for no real reason (and exactly the opposite of SS canon)... which combine with the mores being specified means this shouldn't be as its gibberish as stated.
The method I use for which thread it should be in, is to determine if the issue(s) is from cognitive dissidence, purposely bad plotting, and/or just an antimatter/matter explosion from plot/world dynamics canceling each other out. In short, 'should not be's are designed to fail. I do believe there is an implied challenge in the 'should not work' threads to make it work... I've posted many, many times methods of making the story functional. Meanwhile, the 'should be's are designed to work as is. Other people have much looser definitions of the difference.
In your example above, you hit all three issues... and I'm not sure it was intended as such. I'd really rather you explain what that even means.... its not even a crossover, but a fusion thing. I can see several ways to cross these over, Hansel/Gretal doesn't get sniped on the peer and ends up working for Mithral on the stipulation of getting to dismember his/her old industry. Mithral isn't going to exactly object to that kind of work. The Hansel/Gretal ends up being the bodyuard in the FMP series... though he/she ends up more as a religious fanatic, with secret berserker and crossdressing tendencies than a military fanatic. Though I can see the praying to the Rock, being taken as meaning the Rock of the Ages, rather than his/her personal savior.
Another way is have Hansel and Gretal hire SS and take him on the Black Lagoon run... SS shoots the dock assassin instinctively. SS ends up with a glowing recommendation letter and a rather disturbing friend to have visit him at school during second raid.
