This is kind of awesome. I can see places where it might be inaccessible to people who didn't have a previous understanding of the franchise (I personally had very little idea of what was going on in the "Souichirou-sama" scene until I looked it up), but the premise is superb, and the execution is plenty good to carry it.
...so, I guess rider was the one who din't wind up in a fight? Given that, and the fact that his rider incarnation really *has* to have some sort of a noble phantasm based on being around the world in the blink of an eye, I'd think he'd be showing up to provide fire support to somebody as soon as he realized that he was the odd man out.
Seems like he might make a decent Caster too, with elf and reindeer summons, item crafting, and a bit more juice in the divinations
It's a shame that Saber didn't actually read the book she'd been given - might have given her a fair bit more debate ammo, and would have been a nice use of Chekov.
