I gave up on the horror/slasher genre's about the time they did "New Nightmare" because they became nothing but a trip through tropes and thus predictable. That nnightmare from Raven, oh yeah, fuel from hell.
Honestly i think I'm getting pretty burned out on the whole industry for the same reasons. I mean yeah occasionally someone comes out with a new seeming take on an old story (Hobbit/LotR) and really the action genre you're mmostly there for the fights and explosions. The problem is that like the historical movies I've started even picking them apart. Hell, its gotten so bad that when I took my nephews to see Minions I picked out that the guitar solo that was played near the end was Van Halen's "Panama" intro
