Well, I'd take it as read that he does everything he can to prevent that from happening anyway, just because he's not that much of an asshole, but changing the SOP of a millions-strong xenophobic alien spacy that you have (at best, if part of the group captured and taken to see Boldolza) something like five minutes of contact with, is one seriously hard trick to pull off. The sad part is that changing the Zentran is probably actually easier than trying to deal with the NUGgits (hehehe, I just though of that, as in "New Unity Government gits," but I love it!) back on Earth. Thinking about it, warning people about the Rain of Fire is probably what will make Garrick fess up to his origins - he knows it's coming if he doesn't somehow change things in a big way, and if all else fails he can get himself out of any lab they try to stick him in if worse comes to still-not-as-bad-as-letting-earth-die-without-trying.

On a semi-related note, with Lynn Kaifun getting left behind, will Garrick and his Jurai-powers being taking over as wuxia hero Shao Pai Long? If he can pull out a Light Hawk Wing or two on his own by then, he can actually do stuff fairly similar to what little we see of the movie with no SFX needed.
