The only news that could possibly be more awesome than this would be scientific proof of the/an afterlife.
Holographic projectors, reaction-mass-free engines, parallel worlds... Okay, there's no doubt at all in my mind that the present is over and we are now in The Future.
The followup question being, when did The Present begin and how long did it last? I'd say around 1980, giving us a good twenty-seven years of "now."
