You say you want a (Slayers) Revolution?

#35
So, finally, I've gotten through this series as well as the followup "Second season" of Evolution-R

I have but one thing to say.

THAT IS HOW YOU DO A FINALE.

It may have been a deus ex machina to bring about that fight, but it really was worth it. I said at the beginning that the animation of Slayers Revolution was
beautiful compared to the older show. Well, all I can say is that Evolution-R must've been the producers going "You know, that fight was awesome, but
wouldn't it look EVEN BETTER with modern animation?"

The fact that this is liscensed already makes me so happy. I can't wait to see the dubbed version.

For those of you that are spoiler-hogs, the rundown of what all 26 episodes were building up to:

The McGuffin of the second season is the Hellmaster's Jar, a magical focus that apparently contains the
preserved soul of Rezo, the Red Priest. After about half a season of trying to find it, adnd then getting it from the previous owner, we spend a couple
episodes trying to decide whether or not to ressurect Rezo at all, even if he's the key to restoring Tagorashia, Pokota's home country from season 1.
Eventually, they do so anyway, and Rezo assists in resurrecting the country, but on the eve of their celebration, Lina and Xellos confront him to confirm one
thing: that the Demon Lord Shabranigdo was reborn along with Rezo's soul. Xellos recalls Gaav, whose soul was bound to a human's and grew more powerful
with each reincarnation. If Shabranigdo's "ghost" has gained the same ability, then he's a threat to all Mazoku-kind, even as he realizes
taht Shabranigdo has forgotten the very goals of purposeful destruction that he once taught the mazoku themselves to uphold. So he assists Lina in one final
fight of defiance against the soul of the Demon Lord, resulting in possibly the most epic and apocalyptic looking rendition of Lina (Referred to by Shabranigdo
as "the one whose eyes know not despair") and Shabranigdo himself, who has modern animation to properly convey him as an engine of utter destruction
rather than his old "somewhat bigger monster than before" look from the first season of Slayers. All of which leads up to the finale wherein
Lina's forced to cast the Giga Slave again to destroy Shabranigdo once and for all. Superb, Slayers Evolution-R. Absolutely superb. My inner fanboy totally
squeed with delight.
