Quote:Incredibly heat resistant. Just don't let any sharp object anywhere near the stuff.Exactly. I've used a sheet of the stuff with an embedded fiberglass mesh -- marketed under the name http://www.silpat.com/]"SilPat" -- for baking cookies, biscuits and other cookie-sheet items for years. And if I have a choice I won't use any kind of spatula but a silicone one. They hold up to amazing heat and they're almost as nonstick as Teflon.
And on the subject of heat resistant... you can now buy pot holders, oven mitts and trivets made from the stuff. They look like they belong in a toy box or a bath, but they're serious kitchen implements.
Um. Did I mention I like to cook and I'm somewhat addicted to kitchen gadgets?
