About half an hour ago I finished a phone interview with an HR person from a major consulting firm that shall for the moment remain nameless. It ran about 15
minutes longer than planned, and I think I seriously impressed her. She told me she's sending me on to the next stage of the interview process (stage 2 of
4, only the last of which is a face-to-face interview), and told me the entire cycle of interviews normally takes about 2-1/2 weeks. Wish me luck, folks; the
next level is the one where my piecemeal, self-taught programming skills may sink me by being insufficient to the task.
