I had JUST gotten my
Vanguard Shepard (Lora) up to her penultimate 2nd run through and
achieved level 60 not 2 hours before porting her over.
It was punch to the gut to watch the rape of the Normandy. I'm literally
just muttering "oh my god" over and over - partially because of the
action, partially because of the visuals. Gut-wrenching to watch Lora
fall away from the remains of the Normandy.
That recent
play-through might've worked against me somewhat. My reflexes were all
wrong at first. Even with re-assigning keys to my style. The game plays
-very- different.
I like having a heavy weapon though.
Miranda's
SUCH a bitch... But I might like her anyway.
Jacob - seems like
a stand-up guy. I would've played things a bit more renegade without
him being honest with me right at the start.
JOKER!!! HA!! Same
old wise-guy. The snark between him and EDI has already been
priceless. I'm already starting to think it's love at first sight
between the two of them.
Damn I'm a softy. I got misty-eyed as the
Normandy 2 was introduced. (and that's some DAMN FINE music there.)

I weird for missing the Mako? I mean - I liked booming about in that
thing. I got pretty damn good at it, too. And frankly, I liked being
able to hole up in the tank in some circumstances. And it looked cooler
than that new shuttle. Oh well.
Ok. Donnelly just became my new favorite "extra"

Seriously, this. All of it.
I started right after finishing my l50 Paragon Soldier run- my first run. Not two hours after watching my Shepard dig herself out of the rubble of the Council chambers, she was dead. Looking back on it, I can joke about the early part of the game (who thought my ship needed a skylight there?), but when I was playing... wow.
ME2 does play a LOT different than ME1 did. You either want to be absolutely in cover, or ignoring enemies to run forward- none of the compromises ME1 would let you get away with.
Miranda grows on you, and Jacob is a good guy to have around.
I started getting misty-eyed when I heard Joker for the first time after that meeting. I was reaching for the Kleenex when the SR2 was introduced, and again when it got named. I'm listening to "The Normandy Reborn" as I type this- best song of ME2.
Isn't it great that the new Normandy- the sword of Humanity reforged- has a Scottish (well, Scot-like- the accents sound awful similar in many ways) engineer? It's like they decided to take a cue from Star Trek, for once.
I miss the feeling of getting to explore. I don't miss the Mako, mostly because I always wanted to fit it with longer-lasting jump-jets, a turret that didn't spontaneously decided to overshoot my target, and a freakin' turbocharger. It always took FOREVER to get places.
