The first batch of pictures is from a trip to Beluga, wherein the 'road' was bad gravel, topped by 0-3 inches of ice, topped by 0-3 inches of packed snow, topped by 0-3 inches of water. You cannot tell with any degree of certainty what's coming next, and whether your next turn will result in turning, skidding, or flat-out sliding.
The bridge is, in fact, a bridge. It's a shade over ten feet wide, and the 'safety rails' are a whole ten inches tall.
The second batch is from, in order, the Antique Military vehicles display at the 2010 Alaska Fur Rendezvous, including WireDad, the cat is the Good Cat (she only makes you bleed), the 'blue' snowy pictures are from a fishing trip me and pops made on 3/6/2010, which went splendidly (even if we didn't catch any keepers. I got a 4" rainbow trout, dad got a 6", and the coyote caller failed to generate any coyote).
The last two 'yellow' snow pics are from my commute in this morning. There was 4"-6" of snowfall overnight, and at 5am this morning, there had been enough traffic to make the snow cover on the main roads a variable from 0" to 6", again, with no rhyme or reason. I was highly irritated, as it reduced my speed to 60.
