Querying the Hivemind: Songs about Songs

If you want *really* obscure, there's a song from Ar tonelico that would fit the theme. Or at least, the one line heard during a cutscene would... Which might be a problem in it's own right. (Not that this'll stop me.)

Obscure is good. Turning people on to music they otherwise wouldn't know about is good.

(But, if it's not sung in English, a translation would be appreciated...)
