SCM, try plugging it into your computer an letting it sync with iTunes. I once had a similar problem with my iPhone and that cleared it up.

If it will connect to your computer, but still exhibits the same behavior, try the "Restore" option.

Otherwise, like Wiredgeek said, get it replaced under warranty.
