Does it charge when plugged into the wall wart? or is the failure to respond only a computer thing?
When plugging it into the computer is it plugged into the computer directly, or through a hub? Some hubs can be rather lenient about their voltages, and I've found that apple products can be finicky about not responding to non-standard voltages.
Make a backup if you can, but even if you can't, I'll echo the others here and say take it in for warranty replacement.
