I remember it being discussed in the Chemical Engineering periodicals I read in college (20 years ago!), but I don't recall any reactors in the U.S built on that design. The Boiling water reactors, I'd consider more of a late 50's-60's design. 2nd generation based on the Navy's reactor designs push by Hyman Rickover.
