Stopped for supper again. Building computers while stressed out and hungry is not a good idea.
Got the processor in the motherboard and the board inside the case.
I had to loosen a screw that held the clip over the processor socket down to get the processor in. I only hope that a) the processor is in properly and b) I didn't damage anything pushing it down earlier before I did that. The fact that the fan seems to be fitting well is reassuring, I suppose.
Connecting the front panel is fiddly and not clearly labelled.
Next step will be memory, graphics card and sata cables.
