Live Action "Ranma" Movie coming to Japanese TV

I have just watched this thing in softsubs....and....in my opinion, it is complete and total garbage. It's like someone took some random episodes and scenes from Ranma 1/2, haphazardly strung them together, and then added a plotline that Go Nagai DISCARDED from either Cutie Honey or Kekko Kamen. And then, to finish it off, sodomized the ENTIRE thing with a Jackhammer.

And while we're on the subject of anal rape, lets talk a bit about the plot.

Ranma comes to town looking for the Tendo Dojo. Not because his father is visiting a friend. Not to claim his fiance. No because his father told him that the Tendo Dojo has the Mystical Spring that will cure his curse. Which it does....or at least a map to the location. That's right folks, less than 15 minutes in, and we're starting a variation on the old "Japanese Nannichuan" plotline that was done in the mange and dragged out for 3 episodes in the anime. The Vice Principal also wants the sping. For he is, in fact, in reality, the Criminal Underworld boss know as "Madame Kamanbell" with his gang of refugees from the Blue Oyster Bar from the Police Academy Movies They're even called the Drag Queens. His goal is to use the water to turn all the Beautiful women of the world into men, making it a "perfect world". That's right, the entire plot is one ginormous GAY JOKE. And a bad one.

So while we're subjected to an hour an a half of Ranma and the Drag Queens going at it to find the spring first, we also have to endure a remade rehash of highlights from essentially the first 20+ Episodes of Ranma. Including Ranma's 1st and second street fight with Kunou, Meeting Dr. Tofu, Akane's haircut from hell (given by one of the Drag Queens this time, as this movies doesn't include Ryoga, the Amazons, or any other minor character in the main series that made you give a damn) and Ranma's first kiss...accidentally given by Kunou this time. As well and Kunou and Gosenkugi meeting and looking for Ranma's weakness.

We also have the subplot of Ranma being weaker in girl form. While partialy true in the anime and mange (Ranma lost some strength in the anime/mange, he also picked up additional speed), in this version there's no tradeoff, he's just weaker...so weak, in fact, he can't even fire off a Moko Takabisha....an attack he gets in this from day one!

And it largely ends just like the original episode. Spring no longer works, Ranma gets all depressed....end of story.

In
addition to the above train wreck of a plot, we also have to deal with
the characterizations. Most of whome are either flandarized or are large
cases of "Did not do the homework", and special effects that came out
of Power Rangers.

All in all, I want my hour and a half back.

There is nothing redeemable about this thing. It's proof positive that
Rumiko Takahashi doen't give a firk bing blast and the Ranma franchise
anymore.

I'm disappointed, revolted and, disgusted by this whole thing.

I'm going to bed now, and pray to god my subconscious can expunge this horror from my mind.
