My impression is along the lines of 'The girls know each other and are personally friends. Weiss's family own ShinRa, and she thinks she's on the outs with the others, possibly connected to the fact that Blake is a member of a discriminated-against minority, and also of a resistance group trying to improve their situation, which is why she's cut contact with the others. Adam is from a (much) more militant cell of the same group. Yang thinks they're both being silly and is looking to punch some sense into the two of them and will bring Ruby along for the ride.'
Also, the Club Sisters from Yellow are the same ethnicity as Blake, interestingly. Which - their being bodyguards to a probable criminal - would fit with the social exile angle.

"Yes, and it was glorious."

Who is the girl Yang is looking for? Is she part of the larger plot of the movie, or solely for the trailer?
