Raspberry pi - any resource sites out there?

Well, the obvious one is http://elinux.org/RPi_Hub .  The Tutorials section can show you how to get it up and running, and Guides will walk you through setting it up to do things.  I definitely recommend setting up VNC for remote access, and there's also a guide there for making it a NAS.  Beyond that, this looks like a good guide for setting up print sharing.
I will warn you that my cursory Google-fu suggests that the Pi is a bit slow to do much on top of printer sharing.  It's worth a shot, but I'd keep my expectations relatively low.
