Hmm, good point - maybe if it was capped at up to four non-Barbarian levels, like Focused Caster is? It's kind of like that one in reverse. As for being ashamed of D&D or not - it's not the tabletop gaming, it's the class/level based game engine that burns my biscuits. Distant Horizons Games did a pretty decent point-buy rebuild of 3.x with The Codex Persona and The Practical Enchanter, but Barbarian/Bard is pretty much the only character concept left in the straight system that could make me endure it, and every now and then something related to it sneaks out.
