DC has always been more 'stolid' than Marvel.

I liked some of the ideas they had, like trying to ask questions about the property damage superman caused and the consequences. Then they had Batman gunning down an army of mooks - only he didn't kill them, the exploding petrol tank in their cars killed them, he just put the hole in the tank with a tracer bullet.....
