A couple of thoughts. On toy sales (as in many other areas), I think there is a lack of imagination in sales departments. As a kid I would have bought an Arcee transformers toy or a M.A.S.K. Shark vehicle if they were available and I doubt I would have been the only one. As the quote goes "Boys play with dolls, they just call them action figures". If nothing else I would have thought there would be a decent number of people who collect the entire set.
On to sports, as the saying goes, "To finish first, first you have to finish". You can play it safe and end up wishing you had taken a risk, and you can take a risk and be left regretting not playing it safe. You take a chance either way.
