When I was in high school, while the show was playing, my closest friend remarked how cool it would be to have the capabilities of Steve Austin.  I told him I'd rather be Oscar Goldman, to control all those big-money projects.  From then on, "Oscar" was his nickname for me.  I'm not sure his parents ever knew it wasn't my real name.

In the Judd Apatow film “The 40 Year Old Virgin” (2005), friends of a character played by Steve Carell mock him for owning a Goldman action figure, still in its original packaging, rather than Steve Austin’s.

“That’s worth a lot of money,” Mr. Carell protested. “That’s much more valuable than Steve Austin.”
