It's an interesting idea. But I think that in order to push Minmei to that sort of edge, Kaifun would have to do something truly monstrous, like have it come out that he'd actually been a commander of a covert anti-UN terrorist cell.

Which, honestly, I don't think it's taking Kaifun terribly far out of character to do. In the aftermath of the Rain of Death, he was incredibly sullen. And why so? He obviously had no real love for his family, save maybe for Minmei, but we all know how twisted those feelings are. Personally, I think it was because the very worst-case scenario - all other governments had been eliminated and all there was left was the command staff of the SDF-1, who were the very antithesis to Lyn Kaifun's world view.

But for now, I'm not going to put too much thought into it. Merely the idea that Minmei does something to humble the schmuck is enough food for thought for now.

I'd like to do more here, but recently I noticed that I've been forgetting to take my meds due to how busy I've been, trying to get out the door and get to work. And I've noticed the different. Clinical depression is a bitch because it's something you need to stay on top of.

I'll check back in here in a day or two once my meds have had a chance to start having their full effect.
