Meiki stuck out to me too as having a nice sound to it with a meaning that's not too overt-evil or mixed message like "Dead Tree" for a bunch of Juraians. Nanki is kind of nifty too, but Meiki would be my first pick.

I agree on the clan name. I could see "Shiki" as the assumed name of the last survivor of a once-great clan of Jurai, but not as an active clan.

Garrick Meiki-Jyurai it is.  

I'll go through and retcon later, but in-setting this won't be a thing until Garrick produces a Lighthawk Wing for the first time, thus necessitating the new house.
