Not a lot of horses in Norse mythology - the only one I can think of off the top of my head is Sleipnir. Mind you, Sleipnir is a pretty powerful horse, and does have ties to earth in that its dam was Svaðilfari, the horse that assisted in building the walls of Asgard. If you go that route, your SI has the potential to be more powerful than my SI.

Actually, Svaðilfari was Sleipnir's sire. Loki was his dam. Ain't shapeshifting, gender-bending deities fun? Of course, that makes Svaðilfari another horse from Norse mythology.
