A final clue though, for those who are interested. I'd kinda like to get the game wrapped up before I get back to the U.S. and have writing time again. I did say that it was inspired by Sailor Moon. In fact, this guess is the closest you can possibly get to being correct while still looking at the wrong story:

In particular it was inspired by an event in Pretty Guardian , in particular the , specifically and why . And then think of someone else who can do the exact same thing. (Spoilers in order of increasing specificity.)
