From what I've seen, this is not a Star Trek series, it's a cheaply constructed doppleganger from BIzarro World calling itself something it barely resembles.
I don't mind darker and edgier when you do it in such a way that respects the world doesn't want that to be permanent, like how DS9 featured good people pushed to the edge of their ethics when they would have preferred any other option and the genuinely dark elements were aberrations to the norm, not the day to day rule.
STP desecrates that. Another DS9 style show featuring a Federation that wants to maintain its principles in circumstances where that's becoming a losing option and showing how that causes them conscience issues, that would be compelling to watch. Instead, we get a bunch of people pretending this is the same universe where being the Punisher would be seen as a barbarous outrage and treating it like it's all too normal.
I have no intention of paying this defilement of what Star Trek stood for any heed with that said.
