Now I feel like an asshole for backburnering this one so thoroughly.
So, cards on the table gang: I don't honestly know if we're ever going to finish the main story. Even if we were all still 100% ride-or-die invested in Fenspace - which I don't think most of us are after, god, 12 years of this - the general story outline I came up with was too ambitious for us to have ever finished, really. I had a rough outline of events put together taking things all the way out to the Jihad era of the 3080s, but it was was too much for us to chew. That's on me, so... sorry for letting the side down.
Where do we go from here? Well, there does seem to be some actual interest still over on SB at least, so any new content wouldn't be just us posting desperately into the void or anything. If whoever still cares gives their assent, I think what I might end up doing (after a similar rambling apology on the SB thread) is post a general outline of what I had planned for the Twoflower's tour, the Fourth Succession War and and beyond, along with partially-finished scenes and snippets from the googledoc that ought to see light of day. After that, I'll turn the thread more or less over to short stories and random worldbuilding bits based on stuff in the outline. I'll even throw thread collaborator status in for those who want to help with the housekeeping. Even if the longform narrative fails, we can still keep the story going.
I dunno. What do you guys think? Is this too ambitious - again? Or is it worth taking a gamble on?

Mr. Fnord on FFN and Mal3 on AO3 • Conceptual Neighborhood - yet another damned sci-fi blog • The Westerosi (ASoIaF) • The Westerosi II: Subprime Directives: Extradimensional horrors threaten the Seven Kingdoms, and Captain Hasegawa of the Starfleet Rangers has to stop them. If she accidentally conquers Westeros in the process... oops? • Fenspace (shared world)
"It is your job to personify the tyranny of the majority. You must brutally, ruthlessly oppress and persecute the fuck out of the poor misunderstood disruptive creep minority so that the privileged nerd funhaver status quo can be maintained. It's a thankless job, but somebody's got to do it. Fun Über Alles, all hail the Fun Tyrant, without him our campaign is lost." --SA user Angry Diplomat, on the GM's role.
