Also, we have things called "rivers" that Texas doesn't have nearly as many of, so we have more renewable resources to draw upon. Mind you, we also have something called "wind" (where Prince Edward Island gets 98% of its electricity from), and I've been told they have winds in Texas... and I've been lead to believe Texas gets more sunlight per square kilometer than Canada does, too.
