Heh.  She's American.  Granted, one that attended school in Japan.  I don't think they got that deep into Ancient Egypt.

nearly two months since The Incident

This says the story is taking place in mid-November, if The Incident is the one between Ben and Tessa described in the story where Kurz and Melissa are rescued from Camp Bullis...

The Incident here is actually the falling out Ben had with Teletha.  She made the horrible mistake of continuously using him as a sounding board for how she should handle the relationship between herself, Sousuke, and Kaname because Ben knows and understands her...

...And all while completely disregarding the very well known fact that Ben has feelings for her.

No worries.  It doesn't happen too long after that particular story.  Droselmyer has been working on these guys for MAXIMUM DRAMA.
